DGH Recruitment

DGH news

DGH are one of the leading agencies in the legal sector who produce candidates of a high calibre. As an organisation they are professional, flexible and friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They can always be relied upon to assist with all types of legal recruitment and invest a lot of time working with us to ensure we get the candidates we need.

How's that market?

After a great start to the year, the second quarter didn't quite match expectations. A combination of Easter holidays, more than the usual number of bank holidays and a memorable royal wedding meant that a lot of IT and HR managers took time off from recruiting and certain projects went on hold.
However, the usual summer lull of the 3rd quarter has not materialised for DGH, our clients seem to be firing on all cylinders and recruiting with positive enthusiasm. This has had a knock on effect for our resource team and DGH have recruited more consultants to deal with this upturn. The demand for contractors has increased again, leading us to believe that IT departments have been running with a skeleton crew and that companies now need to get the right people and skills in place to deal with extra projects that can no longer be left on the back burner.

Important information regarding the Agency worker directive

Agency Workers Regulations (AWR)

The AWR came into force on 1 October 2011. The regulations give temporary staff an entitlement to the same basic employment and working conditions as permanent employees.
The new rules mean that from day one of an assignment contractors will be entitled to use your workplace’s facilities, and get information on job vacancies.
After 12 weeks in the same job with the same hirer contractors will be entitled to equal treatment in; pay, holidays, overtime, rest periods, working hours.
The regulations are not retrospective (back dated). Any time spent on an assignment before 1 October 2011 will not count towards the 12 week qualifying.
